I'm Sarena and some years ago I found myself caught up in so much stress and worry that I didn't feel like me anymore.
I was fed up, hated my body and everything seemed to be getting in the way of me being the wife and mother I wanted to be. I always felt guilty about wrong choices, but had no clue how to make right ones.
So, I set out on a quest to make myself feel better and I began to realise how far out of control I had been once I started to get it back.
I started by making myself vege juices which obviously gave my body what it had been craving and made everything feel better. Little by little I introduced new healthier habits as I learnt more and one thing I didn't expect is how eating better improved my mood, which motivated me to do more.
Quite quickly the baby weight fell off as my diet changed, I craved more nutritious foods and I had enough energy to manage my full life and enjoy it.
A few years on and I've been lucky enough to recognise that my true passion in life is being able to share what I learn to inspire others to feel better about themselves too.

I went on to complete my formal Nutrition Therapy training at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (biomedicine) and the College of Naturopathic Nutrition in the UK to qualify with a Diploma in Holistic Naturopathic Nutritional Practice. I now regularly attend CPD courses and seminars in order to keep up to date with the latest science and health techniques - but mainly because I LOVE learning.
I’ve been a coach all my life, first in sport (gymnastics and squash), then in business management. I have completed many coaching courses in these areas, most notably a Coaching & Mentoring Progressive Leadership program recognised by the ILM.
I have a Science degree with a physics major and a Graduate Diploma of Business from New Zealand universities which provided key foundations to my strong work ethic.
I’m a kiwi girl at heart, born and raised on a small farm in the heart of Canterbury, New Zealand.
I had the most amazing childhood. I drank mountain spring water (when the cows weren't running through it), climbed trees, played lots of sport and ate nutritious home-grown, home-cooked food.
My parents both worked so hard and my mum has always been an advocate for packing a lot into life, helping others, challenging authority and not being afraid to try new things. They gave me everything I could have asked for. Now I want to give back.
My vision for Boost & Balance is:
